The American Birkebeiner Ski Patrol is a collection of NSP patrollers coming together each year to form a Patrol which serves as an integral part of the medical team at the American Birkebeiner XC-ski race in late February.  Members of the Birkie Patrol come from throughout the NSP Central Division and Canada.  Nordic-qualified* patrollers wishing to join the Birkie Patrol should contact their home Region's Nordic Advisor or the Central Division Nordic Supervisor for more information.
*Alpine patrollers with reasonable x-c skiing skills are more than welcome.

American Birkebeiner, February 20, 2016

Patrollers: As mentioned in our letter, the American Birkebeiner Ski Foundation requires all volunteers to register through a web-form in their site. The process is easy; just follow these steps:

  1. Go to www.birkie.com/volunteer (brings you directly to the volunteer page.)
  2. In the lower "Register To Be a Birkie Volunteer!" section, click on the link: "Birkie Week Events – February"
  3. Scroll down (quite a ways) to "National Ski Patrol", and select either (or both) the Friday and/or Saturday events.
  4. Scroll down past the end of the list to "What’s your email address?", and fill out the required contact information, and submit the completed form.
  5. An automated e-mail will arrive from the birkie.com site
  6. Allow images to be displayed, and click on the "Review Your Profile" link to review and confirm your registration. That’s it. You’re registered!
